Delete your MakEat account
You can delete your account and all its data at any time, from the app, from the website or by email. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
First, cancel your subscription
Deleting your account does not cancel a Plus subscription. Cancel it where you bought it. iPhone: Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Android: Google Play > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. Web: Settings > Subscription & billing in MakEat.
In the mobile app
- Open MakEat and go to your Profile.
- Tap Account settings.
- Tap Delete account, then confirm.
On the website
- Log in at makeat.app and open Settings.
- Scroll down to Danger zone.
- Click Delete account, then confirm.
By email
No access to the app any more? Write to support@makeat.app from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We'll confirm and delete it within one month.
What we delete
Your login and profile, your cooking preferences, every recipe, import, meal plan and grocery list, the photos, PDFs and profile picture you uploaded, and your devices and notifications. If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke MakEat's access to your Apple ID. All of this happens right away.
What we keep
Payment records stay with Stripe, Apple or Google for as long as tax and accounting laws require. Copies in our encrypted backups disappear as those backups expire. Analytics you agreed to are tied to an internal ID, never to your name or email.
