Accepting these terms

These terms apply to the MakEat website and apps. By creating an account or using MakEat, you accept them. If you don't agree, please don't use MakEat.

The service

MakEat lets you import, organise, cook, plan and convert recipes. We regularly improve the service and may change or remove features. Some features need an internet connection and rely on AI.

Your account

You must be at least 16 to create an account. Give accurate information, keep your login details private and tell us if you think someone else is using your account. You are responsible for activity carried out from your account.

Free and Plus plans

The Free plan includes 5 imports every 2 weeks, unlimited recipes, cooking mode, the grocery list and the meal planner. MakEat Plus adds unlimited imports, PDF import, detailed nutrition, Thermomix mode and fridge mode. Current prices are always shown before you pay.

Subscriptions and renewal

Plus is a monthly or yearly subscription that renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. On the web, payments are handled by Stripe and you can cancel at any time in Settings > Subscription & billing. Subscriptions bought in the iOS or Android app are billed by Apple or Google, under their terms, and managed in your App Store or Google Play account.

Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep Plus until the end of the period you already paid for.

Refunds

Web subscriptions can be refunded within 14 days of payment: write to support@makeat.app. Refunds for App Store and Google Play purchases are handled by Apple and Google.

Your content

You keep ownership of the recipes and files you add to MakEat. You give us only the permission we need to store, process and show them to you in order to provide the service. Only import content you have the right to use, and respect the rights of the original authors: imported recipes are for your personal use.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse MakEat. In particular, don't try to break, overload or scrape the service, get around usage limits, resell access, or upload illegal or harmful content. We may suspend an account that does.

AI-generated content

Imported recipes, nutrition values, translations, Thermomix settings and generated recipes are produced automatically and can contain mistakes. Check them before relying on them, especially for allergies, special diets and cooking temperatures. They are not medical or dietary advice.

Thermomix is a registered trademark of Vorwerk. MakEat is not affiliated with or endorsed by Vorwerk.

Liability

MakEat is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect losses, or for losses caused by relying on automatically generated content. Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country.

Closing your account

You can stop using MakEat and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why unless the law prevents us.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we'll let you know in advance in the app or by email. Using MakEat after the change means you accept the new terms.
